First Look – Take This Waltz
With not one but two men vying for her attections, Michelle Williams is set for a steamy summer in Take This Waltz
This bittersweet comedy that’s been building buzz on the festival circuit sees Williams take on the role of generally happily-married woman Margot. Life is plain sailing until Margot’s chance encounter with a neighbour on a plane trip when she finds herself pining for something her marriage can’t give her. Seth Rogen plays her loving husband Lou who sees his marriage unravelling, and Luke Kirby is
the man she finds herself falling for. The fourth player is comedienne Sarah Silverman who plays against type as Lou’s wiser, older sister.
“I think one of the most important things for me is that I thought it was talking about a transition that you make in your life in your late 20s from being a girl into being a woman, and that’s the transition
that I was in,” Williams told the Hollywood Reporter. “I wanted to make a film about desire,” explains actor turned-director Sarah Polley, who set the film in her hometown of Toronto. “It is very, very hard to turn away from falling in love and very few people can do it.”
Take This Waltz is released in UK cinemas on 17 August 2012.
