Sean Penn To Direct Crazy For The Storm
According to reports, Sean Penn has entered negotiations to direct Warner Bros’ upcoming project Crazy For The Storm.
This film is based on the memoir of American author Norman Ollestad, who survived a plane crash at the age of 11 that took the life of his father. Norman was the only survivor of the tragic event, and had to use skills taught to him by his dad to make it down the mountain that the plane had crashed into.
Despite being primarily known as a double Oscar-winning actor (Milk, Mystic River) and five-time nominee, Penn has also directed four features, the most recent being the critically acclaimed Into The Wild in 2007.
Screenwriter Will Fetters, previously responsible for The Lucky One and Remember Me, has adapted the story for the big screen. Apparently Penn is keen to direct, but will not be starring.
Penn will appear in Gangster Squad, Ruben Fleischer’s 1940s crime drama that also features Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin, set for a January release next year.
