Keira Knightley to star in Jack Ryan
Keira Knightley has been cast in the new Jack Ryan film, playing the title character’s wife. Chris Pine is starring as Ryan – this is the fictional CIA Agent’s fourth big screen outing.
The last time Jack Ryan appeared in film was The Sum Of All Fears, where he was played by Ben Affleck. Before then, Harrison Ford had appeared as the character twice – in Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger - and Alec Baldwin had played Ryan in The Hunt For Red October.
The latest film is rumoured to be titled Moscow. The plot is reported to involve Ryan moving to the Russian capital to work for a Russian billionaire before he is framed as the man behind a plot to wreck the US economy.
The flic will be the first Ryan movie to not be adapted directly from a Tom Clancy novel. Adam Cozen is penning the screenplay, working from an original draft from Hossein Amini (Drive, Snow White And The Huntsmen).
Pirates Of The Caribbean star Knightley plays the lead in Anna Karenina, out 7 September, and will also appear in John Carney’s Can A Song Save Your Life alongside Mark Ruffalo.
