Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla Gets Release Date

After it was announced that Gareth Edwards – who shot to fame with his feature debut Monsters - would helm a new take on Godzilla, many were intrigued to see how the director would make the transition between low and high-budget monster movies.

And now, the film has now been given a release date -
16 May 2014.

At the recent Comic-Con in San Diego, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures premiered some footage from the project, and it received an apparently raucous reception.

Edwards has stated that his incarnation of the monster movie, “will return the character to its epic roots with a gritty, realistic actioner.”

Expect some footage to appear online in the new year.
