World (Cup) Cinema

A selection of the best films from all 32 World Cup nations.

You may or may not be aware that a small tournament known as the World Cup is starting this week. Every 4 years the world’s leading football countries descend upon one location to compete for the grandest prize in the sport. With Brazil hosting the tournament this year, it is an excellent chance to see nations from all over the planet coming together in one of the world’s most exotic nations.

Although we here at Film3Sixty concede that football might not be everyone’s game but it doesn’t mean that you can’t participate in the celebrations in an alternative way.  With us all being film fans at heart, here is a slideshow of some of the best films from all 32 nations competing at the World Cup. From well know classics to obscure gems this list is guaranteed to get you in the mood for World Cup fever.

Have you seen any of these films? If so tell us your favourites and who you feel would win the World Cup of movies.

Hmmm, I’d say the Third Man for England, Chopper for Australia, Una Giornata Particolare for Italy and Unforgiven for the US (more American). Otherwise, good list.
